Shoe would rub and scrape at the ankle. Needs more padding there. The Skechers model I am keeping has that padding.

Purchased these after trying a different boot that was way to heavy. I found the boots to be pretty comfortable on the very first day even though I was searing low cut socks. The ankle support was soft and didn.t chaif. I did have an issue with the laces as they were too short for my preference of tying a double knot. Then I relaced the boots avoiding the little loop on the third from the top which I show in my photos.. Now the laces are plenty long enough and it is easier th cinch up the laces. For $48 total I am very happy.

The boots were comfortable & the ankle support was soft, but supportive. I did find the laces to be a bit short & difficult to tighten-up until I bypassed the loop which is just below the 2nd eyelet. This allowed me to get enough lace to to a double knot which I prefer & I also found the laces were much easier to tighten-up. I don’t understand why the loop is even there, unless it is now THE style as I have another pair of lowcut hiking shoes which also use the “loop”.. Anyway-for $43 plus tax I think it was a very good deal. Thanks Zappos!.
